Obituary for Florence Lillian Phillips (Keagle)

Florence Lillian Phillips, 101, peacefully passed away on January, 14, 2018. She was the 12th of 14 children, born in 1916 in Battle Creek to George and Mona Keagle.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James W. Phillips, son, James Belden Phillips of Grand Rapids, eight brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her sister, Georgia Brackett of Pinenillas Park, FL., and many nieces and nephews.
When asked what she enjoyed most about having so many siblings, her quick response was “you never had to worry about having someone to play with.” She told of how the family had to eat in shifts as there were not enough plates or chairs for everyone to eat at once.
A memorial service will be held at Mount Ever Rest on Westnedge in Kalamazoo in the Spring.
Memorial donations may be made to Gilda’s Club of Grand Rapids.
