Meghan Elizabeth MacKrell died on January 14th, 2018, at the age of 35. She was born on December 24th, 1982, in Portsmouth, Virginia. She is survived by her son Wyatt Commander; her parents Maria Barrington (Chris Hummel) and Patrick MacKrell (Peggy, predeceased); her siblings Leslie (Desiree Flores), James and Keagan; her nephew, Rowan; her grandparents Marguerite and Robert Eckert, Pam and Joseph Barrington, Rose and Sal Tassone; and her many aunts, uncles and cousins throughout her large extended family. Meghan also has many loving grandparents and family who have passed before her.
Meghan’s greatest pleasure was raising and spending time with her son Wyatt, in whose kind, clever and loving nature she was always so incredibly proud. He was the core of her life and animated her world. She was an irreplaceable spirit in the lives of her family and close friends, who will always remember Meghan’s contagious laughter, her goofy and loving ways, her earnest aspirations for happiness, her strong work ethic, her spontaneous generosity, and her yearning to be of help to them. Meghan was employed with the New York State Unified Court System, spending most of her career at Troy City Court and most recently with the 3rd Judicial District as a Deputy Chief Clerk.
There will be a private visitation for immediate family. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 10:30am on Friday, January 19th at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 667 Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Joseph’s House (www.josephshousetroy.org), an organization whose efforts to help vulnerable neighbors Meghan admired, or to the Little Hill Foundation (www.littlehillfoundation.org) to whom Meghan’s family is grateful.
