Marian L. Fitzella, 87, a life-long resident of Kane, died on Tuesday, January 16 at Sena Kean Manor in Smethport.

She was born November 1, 1930 in Kane, the daughter of the late Melvin and Hazel (Ross) Benson. On June 23, 1951, she married Michael Fitzella, Sr., who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Fitzella was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kane. She worked at Sears and Tele-Communications, Inc. in Kane. She retired from TCI in 1995.

Surviving relatives include her son, Michael Fitzella, Jr. and his wife Mary, of Vienna, VA; one brother, Raymond (Margaret) Benson of Jamestown, NY; one sister, Rheta Tilburg, of Kane; three grandchildren, Joan Sutton (Allen) of Davidson, NC, James Fitzella of Washington, DC, and Jackie Fitzella of Vienna, VA; two great-grandchildren (Evelyn and Grant), and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters; Leona Davidson, Barbara Udovich, and Dorie Nelson.

Friends will be received at the First United Methodist Church on Friday (Jan. 26) from Noon until 1:00 at which time services will be conducted by the Rev. Calvin Cook, pastor. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
