Arvilla M. (Weaver) Keeny, 87, died of cancer on Thursday January 18, 2018 at her home. She was the wife of the late Ray A. Keeny.
Viewings will be held at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, on Tuesday January 23, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and on Wednesday from 9 to 10 am. Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the New Freedom Cemetery.
Mrs. Keeny was born December 24, 1930 in Grand Junction, CO, a
daughter of the late Henry H. and Viola H. (Miller) Weaver Moss and step-daughter of L.I. Moss.
She was a nurse in Greeneville, OH prior to her marriage, and had baked and delivered bread and rolls from her home in the Shrewsbury and New Freedom area for a number of years.
She was a member the Conservative German Baptist Brethren Church.
She is survived by six children, Rachel Yaeger and husband, David of Piermont, N.H., Kenneth Keeny and wife, Sue of Stewartstown, Kevin Keeny and wife, Ruth of New Freedom, Jane Stalter and husband, Paul of Millersburg, Ohio, Nathan Keeny and wife, Cynthia of Woodward, Iowa,
Shirley Lichtenberger and husband, Duane of Denver, PA; 41 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, two brothers, Delbert Weaver and Albert Weaver and three sisters, Hazel Weaver, Charlotte Frick and Ida Keeny.
The family requests no flowers for her funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Aid Ministries, P.O. Box 360, Berlin, Ohio 44610.
