Obituary for Grace Mary Toman (Hillyer)
TOMAN, Grace Mary (Hillyer) – Passed away peacefully at Hilltop Manor Nursing Home, Cambridge on Friday, January 19, 2018 at age 92. Born December 16, 1925 and daughter of the late William and Lucinda (nee McKnight) Hillyer.
Wife of the late Reuben Toman (1985); loving mother of Lynne (Reinhold) Mehring, Brian Toman, Wendy (Bob) Nicholls, Cathy (Rick) Bygrave, Warren (Peggy) Toman, Paul (Lynn) Toman, and Tony Toman. Cherished grandmother of Krista, Rebecca, April, Taylor, Jennifer, Melanie, Glenn, Ian, Sarah, Jackie, Erica, and of 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Dear sister of Ken, Wayne, Shirley, Ruth, and Gloria.
Besides her parents Grace was predeceased by brother Bill and sisters Joan, her Twin Jean, Patty, and Betty.
Grace was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and President in Preston and Owen Sound. Grace loved jokes, cards, bingo, and bowling. Her favorite request was corn on the cob.
Many thanks to the Nurses and Staff at Hilltop Manor for their care and kindness.
A Private family service was held at Lounsbury Funeral Home 1766 Franklin Boulevard, Cambridge with interment at Parklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Mary of the Visitation Parish.
