Obituary for Donna G. Kienzle (Neilsen)


POTSDAM – Mrs. Donna G. Kienzle, 84, of Hillcrest Drive, peacefully passed away on Tuesday morning, January 16, 2018 at her home.

Donna was born September 16, 1933 in Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of the late John and Herlig (Kloster) Nielsen. On May 8, 1955, she married Harry J. Kienzle in Oyens, Iowa with Rev. J.E. Jacobsen officiating.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, Harry J.; her daughters, Julie Murray and her husband, Gary of Potsdam and Laura Whalen and her husband, Peter of Colton; her grandchildren, Robert Murray, Amanda McCord and her husband, Brian, Kara Murray, David Murray, Christopher Whalen, Matthew Whalen and his wife, Eva, and Liam Whalen; her great grandchildren, Logan McCord and Emmitt Murray; and her brother, Dennis Nielsen and his wife, Barbara of Hilton Head, South Carolina; and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dolores Reinholdt and Dorothy Jelken and a brother, Baby Nielsen.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the spring at Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam.

Donna had a great love for her family and Jesus. The family would ask that any memorial contributions in her memory be made to a Christian organization of one’s choice that shares the good news of the Gospel.
