Harold 'Hal' Robert Depew
Harold “Hal” Depew, a resident of Dallas, Oregon died on Thursday, January 18th in Salem Hospital. He was born on December 6, 1932 in Hamilton, Ohio the son of William and Lucinda Depew. Hal served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 until 1954 in the Korean Conflict. He then served in the United States Air Force from 1956 until 1959. Hal married Paula Jones on December 22, 1961 in San Lorenzo, California. They later settled in Dallas, Oregon. Hal worked for Praegitzer Industries and later Tyco. He also worked at Guys Hardware before he retired in 2003. Hal was a member of Valley Life Center Church where he was known as the candy man. He was also a member of the Carl B. Fenton Post #20 in Dallas and helped with the annual Avenue of Flags at Dallas Cemetery. He enjoyed exploring old mines and playing golf. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Paula of 56 years, Sons, Michael (Teresa) Depew, William Depew and Thomas Depew.
Services will be on Saturday, January 27th at 3:00PM at the Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Private interment will be in Dallas Cemetery.
