Michael F. Cleary, 79, of Coventry, CT passed away unexpectedly on January, 18, 2018 at Hartford Hospital. Michael was born on May 1, 1938 in Hartford, CT, son of John J. Cleary, Jr. and Margaret (Mullarky) Cleary. He was predeceased by his son Kevin E. Cleary, Sister Ann Marie Cotter and Brothers Jack Cleary and Edward Cleary. He is survived by his wife Lynne (Lauterbach) Cleary of Coventry, Sister Margaret McNary and Francis McNary of Wayland, MA; and many nieces and nephews. He served ten years in the Air National Gaurd of CT and was honorably discharged. He worked for some time at Nathan Hale Construction. In 1994, he became Chief of Engineering Services II for the Department of Mental Retardation in Connecticut. Golf was his passion. He and his golf buddie played in many fundraisers and enjoyed the weekly rounds. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 11am for a Funeral Home Service at the Coventry-Pietras Funeral, 2665 Boston Turnpike, Coventry, CT.
