Carol Ann Thomas, age 77, of Beechwood Drive, died on January 21, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, NY., surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 2, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Harold Carter and Lillian (Hamilton) Tappan.
Carol was an amazing cook and seamstress who loved her family, especially her grandchildren, with all her heart. She took pride in her home and her gardens. Her handmade dresses, draperies, costumes, clothing, crafts and cakes were second to none. Her children, nephews and grandchildren always had the most beautiful things that money couldn’t buy. She was the original DIYer and, with her talents and skills for making things, she surrounded herself and others with beauty. She took pride in all that she made.
She left a legacy of a beautiful family including her adoring husband John “Jack” Thomas Sr. and her sons John (Brenda) Thomas, Jr., Michael Thomas, Richard (Betsy)Thomas and her daughter Cindy (Mike)Thomas-Turgeon. She also leaves behind the lights of her life, her beloved grandchildren, her loving nephews, her sister Karen (Marc) Ternullo and many relatives. Everyone in her family benefited from Carol’s gifts.
Funeral will be private.
