Obituary for Rae B. Tapley (Fiske)

Rae B.  Tapley (Fiske)
Medway – Rae B. Tapley, 88, died Sunday, January 21,2018 at Millinocket health care facility, surrounded by those she loved. She was born November 22, 1929 in Millinocket, the daughter of Harry J. and Grace B. (Cram) Fiske.
Rae grew up in Medway, and was a graduate Medway High School, class of 1947. Rae was Medway Town Clerk for many years, and then worked as secretary to the principal at Medway Elementary School for more than 20 years before retiring in the late 1980’s. After retiring, she enjoyed travelling with her husband, Calvin C. Tapley. Some of their favorite trips included Hawaii, Las Vegas, Tennessee, Arizona, and a cruise to the Bahamas. Rae looked forward to going out for her Wednesday morning “Breakfast Club” – Betty, Darlene, Carmen, Betts, and Val, and always enjoyed family get togethers. Rae always looked forward to her monthly visits with Frank and Anne Davis. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Rae is survived by five children, Michael Tapley and his wife Beth of Cape Canaveral, Florida, Patricia Fleming and her husband Dale of Chandler, Arizona, Jeffrey Tapley and his wife Shirley of Medway, George Tapley and his fiancé Tammy Elliott of East Millinocket, and Brenda Stanley and her husband Phillip of Medway; nine grandchildren, Peter, Kris, Todd, Jaimie, PJ, Jason, Nicole, Michelle, and Chad; ten great grandchildren, Zachary, Althea, Alexandra, Oceana, Austin, Oliver, Nicholas, Calvin, Nathan, and Henry; a sister in law, Diane Fiske of Medway; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Calvin C. Tapley, with whom she shared 53 years; siblings, Ruth Furlotte, Benjamin Fiske, Arthur Fiske, and Roderick Fiske; and a grandson, Todd Fleming.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, January 24 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack Street, where funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Thursday, January 25 with Rev. Kendall Sperrey officiating. Spring interment will be at the Grindstone Road Cemetery, Medway. Gifts in memory of Rae may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O.
