Obituary for Keith S. Weachter

Keith Scott Weachter, 49, of Ephrata, PA, passed away on Friday afternoon, January 19, 2018 at the Bob Fryer and Family Inpatient Center of Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. Keith fought a very determined eight year battle with lung cancer. He was the husband of Deborah L. Poysher Weachter for 12 years on September 6. He is also survived by his parents, Larry and Nancy Shiffler Weachter of Lititz, a nephew, Ryan Weachter and his wife Savannah, and a sister-in-law, Marion Weachter. Preceding him in death was a brother, Kevin Weachter, and a niece, Brittany Weachter.

Keith was born at Ephrata Hospital and graduated from Ephrata High School in 1986. He attended Willow Street Vo-Tech and went on to work as a diesel mechanic for Ryder Truck for 29 years. He was a member and steward of Teamsters Union No. 771, Ephrata, Lodge No. 665, F&AM, Lancaster Reading Consistory, and Rajah Shrine.

Keith loved nature and the outdoors, spending time hiking through Middlecreek Wildlife Management Area, bird watching, and playing golf. Together, he and Deb enjoyed antiquing, gardening, and visiting Cape May. Keith will be remembered as having an outgoing personality, a good sense of humor, and caring very much for the people in his life. He will be greatly missed.
