Obituary for Martha Northcraft

Martha Northcraft, 89, of Chaneysville, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018.

She was born Monday, December 24th, 1928 at her family home in Southampton Township, a daughter of the late Wilbur Dicken and Vula (Ratliff) Dicken.

On June 1st, 1948 she married G. Wade Northcraft who passed away on March 18th, 2010. She is survived by their daughter, Wanda Singleton and husband Teddy Singleton of Flintstone, Maryland;

Four grandchildren,
Kirk Singleton and wife Krista (Wood) Singleton of Hagerstown, Maryland,
Dawn Lanham and husband Erick Lanham of Morgantown, West Virginia,
Logan Northcraft of New Creek, West Virginia,
Jasper Wolf of Cumberland, Maryland,

Six great-grandchildren, Kaleb Singleton, Emily Lanham, Sierra Lanham, Kathryn Singleton, Kole Singleton, and Jenna Lanham,

A sister Doris Northcraft of Artemas, a brother Tommy Dicken and wife Debbie (Chiccarella) Dicken of Chaneysville, a daughter-in-law Angela (Blizzard) Northcraft of New Creek, West Virginia, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing away by a son Randy Northcraft; two sisters, Joyce Miller and Helen Trail, and a brother Duane Dicken.

Mrs. Northcraft was a member of the Chaneysville Community Church and was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1948. She was also an active member of the Chaneysville Senior Center and was a former member of the William McKinley Smith Post #155 American Legion Women Auxiliary.

After her marriage to Wade, Martha was a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother who was exceptional at baking and cooking and truly enjoyed fashioning gifts for her family and friends with her talents in needlecraft, working in cross stitch, crocheting, embroidery, knitting and quilting.

After raising her children, she began her work as a seamstress at Lion Manufacturing in Everett for 15 years until retiring. With a listening ear and a gentle smile, Martha adored watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and learn, and will be remembered for her loving heart, quiet inner strength, and graciously returning a favor with an open heart.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27th, 2018 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett with Pastor Jonas “Buck” Smith officiating.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Saturday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com

Burial will be held at Mt. Zion Christian Cemetery, Chaneysville.
