Obituary for Alton Alvin Oehlke
Alton Alvin Oehlke passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 23, 1937 in Goliad County to Gus and Ella Oehlke.
He was a retired electrician and member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed life to the fullest. His family was his pride and joy, along with his companion Rocky. He also enjoyed long rides through town and cracking jokes just to see people smile. He was one of a kind and will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Sarah Oehlke; children, Stanley Oehlke (Kelly), Christy Zillig (Leslie), Charity Rodriguez, and Melissa Edison (Raymond); 9 grandchildren, A.J., Joshua, Brittany, Garrett, Tyler, Tiffany, Megan, Lorin, and Nathaniel; 2 great grandchildren, Peyton and Talon; brother, Gaylon Oehlke; his first wife, Lanell Ressmann.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Sarah Lynn Oehlke; brothers, Darwin and Ruben Oehlke
The book will be available to sign beginning at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 27th at Grace Funeral Home – Goliad with a family visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 28th at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Goliad, with Pastor Randy Bruno presiding; burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery.
Pallbearers are his son and grandsons.
