My granny ❤️
I was about 3 months old when my mom met my dad, Robert Battice. It wasnt long before my dads family took me and my big sister under their wing. I didnt know my biological dad, I was too small to understand any of that.. as far as I was concerned he was my actual dad and she was my actual grandma. Growing up they treated my sister an I as their own. I loved being part of that family more then anything. People in school would always talk about their ethnicity and I was proud to say I was native because I didnt know enough to understand I was adopted. The family didnt treat me any different especially my grandma, because to her I was her grand baby. We looked up to her so much, always getting ourselves into trouble for handing in papers that had our last names as Battice because thats all we wanted to be. If theres one person who believed in us the most it was her. I wanted to be a singer... then thats what I was going to be. She went out and bought me a big karaoke machine, taught me may songs, at one point she even taught me an entire song in the native language. She would take me to talent shows and once I came home and she had an application to American idol. Anything you needed she would make sure you had it. She believed in us girls more then anything and was the best grandma I could ask for. I have many memories with her and a lot of lessons in my life I have learned from her. I dont know where I would be without that woman she is the reason I am who I am today. I cant believe she is no longer with us, it takes my breath away. But I hope shes in a better place, free from pain.
Love you granny with my entire heart.
Love Ash
