The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Thomas Pluta can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Eric Pound
Condolence: Tom was a patriot and a friend. I knew him long ago and we lost touch; I only recently learned of his passing. His combination of intelligence, wit and commitment was rare. Rest well, my friend.

Condolence From: a friend who worked with him
Condolence: To Family, Friends and Loved Ones of Tom:

Tom is fondly remembered.

Myself and several others who worked with him were shocked of his passing. The last note we got was only several weeks ago. He never alluded of his condition.

Tom served the country to keep us safe.

On a lighter note, Tom always had a funny quip to cheer things up. But, Tom was dead serious when it came to work.

Tom will be dearly missed.

Tom, you're safe. Rest easy my friend.

Condolence: Tom was a wonderful man who had many friends where we worked at the Board of Veterans' Appeals. He had a great sense of humor and was well liked by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by me and all others who knew him. I am very sad to learn of his passing.

Condolence: So sad to hear of the passing of my childhood friend. Tommy was my next door neighbor growing up. Many happy times during our childhood. Summer days were always busy playing kickball, badminton, sledding down what we thought was our giant hill, trips to Hampton Beach or just swinging on the wooden swing in his backyard. His talents were endless....playing his grand piano, stamp collecting, his CB radio and just being fun to be around. Even his teasing my Babci is a memory many of us remember.

Sleep with the Angels my dear friend. You have a special place in my memories.

Condolence: To Family, Friends and Loved Ones of Thomas A. Pluta, we share your tears and sadness in losing our beloved Tom. Very few who encountered Tom could ever forget him. The world will not be the same without this warm, loquacious, intelligent, humorous and jovial man, who even managed to charm and make us smile when at his most ornery. Tom invariably left people in laughter from his highly resourceful wit and humor, or in awe from his keen intelligence, insight, and well informed - if not highly controversial - opinions. Tom was a true natural – blessed with the gift of the written and spoken word, and an ear for fine music, whether of the classic variety or Puttin’ on the Ritz, and played piano himself, including an infamously tortured version of As Time Goes By on his untuned Steinway. A highly gifted lawyer, he wowed the bar for over 25 years as a Veterans’ Law Judge. To his friends, family and colleagues, Tom was incredibly loyal, and not once did he ever hesitate to lend support and comfort to his friends and loved ones in need. Most of all, Tom was a dedicated, loving, and loyal mate, companion, confidant and husband to the love of his life, his beloved Marianne – his Cat - without whom his rich and varied life would have been incomplete. In his last days and hours, she was always by his side, he surely feeling he was the luckiest of them all.

We will miss you Tom.

Affectionately, John, Fereshteh and the entire Kinney family.
