Obituary for Jimmy Wayne Martin

Jim Martin, age 70, of 4720 Creighton Rd., Pensacola died Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at home with his beloved family.
He was a native of Trion, Georgia but resided in Pensacola most of his life. Jim was a retired Postal Service Worker who enjoyed his thirty-five plus years of service. It was a pleasure for him to have regular customers who were more like family, especially, as he watched their children grow up throughout the years. His hobbies included cars, car racing, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends. Jim honorably served his country in the United States Air Force.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Clara Mae (Watson) Martin; and father, Roy Allison Martin, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jeanette Wiggins Martin; daughter, Vicki Martin McGehee; son, Jason William (Tammy) Walker; five grandchildren, Christopher “Blake” and Brett McGehee, KaCe and Kaylen Boyer, Kamden Jones; two great grandchildren, Lacii and Macee; two siblings, Joyce Martin Kolarik of Weidman, MI and Gary Martin of Cantonment, FL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Gina Bryan. A glorious send-off of Jim’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m.at Ollie’s Neighborhood Grill, 2100 W 9 Mile Rd, Pensacola, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations please be made to Regency Hospice of Pensacola in Mr. Martin’s name.
