Dear Joan, Cathy and Family, Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Rich. Please remember all the good times you had with Rich and keep those memories alive forever. This world was definitely a better place with Rich in it and I consider myself quite fortunate to have known him. We all share in your sorrow and pray that you will find much comfort, peace and strength during this very difficult time. Richie was perhaps one of the most influential members of the IBM East Fishkill Data Center & System Support Teams and was a great friend to all of us. I was privileged to have once worked with Rich as a member of that highly talented IMS System Support Team that he led and then later as a member of adjacent System Support Teams (CICS, MQ) that interacted with his IMS Team. Richie’s IBM Office Door was always open to everyone to share a laugh, seek a technical opinion, or to seek moral and emotional support when you had a bad hair day in that crazy world of System Support or life in general.
