Wayland W.  Gentry
WAYLAND WAYNE GENTRY 85, of Sutherlin, Oregon passed away Monday, January 29, 2018 in a Roseburg hospital. He was born on October 19, 1932 in Dunbar, Oklahoma, one of thirteen children. Wayland was raised in Olla, Arkansas. He graduated from Roseburg High School in 1950. Wayland worked in the lumber industry many years in commercial lumber sales and core layer (Guiness Book of Records) at Evans and Nordic Veneer Plywood mills until his retirement. He was active in church activities at Faith Baptist Church for 25 years and Melrose Community Church for 30 years as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Awana and Family Camp on the weekends. Survivors include the love of his life Gail Gray for 65 years; children Guy (Rhonda), Debbie and Penny (Mark); 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren ; numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Wayland's Life will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church. Private inurnment was held within the grounds of Valley View Cemetery.
