Obituary for Fred Theodore Bostian

Fred Theodore  Bostian
Fred “Pete” Theodore Bostian passed away in his home south of Perkins on February 3, 2018. His service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel, with David Chapman officiating and Cody Sadler speaking. Interment will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery south of Stillwater, OK. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Pete was born north of Perkins, on November 13, 1921 to Roy Bostian and Ida Emerson Bostian. He attended grade school at Elm Grove, and graduated from Perkins High School.
He married his soul mate Josephine Domstead Bostian on January 28, 1942. They were married 52 years before her passing on July 3, 1994.
He was a WWII Army Calvary/Medic veteran who returned home to become a farmer and oil field operator, retiring from Brady Oil Well Service in 1986.
He was known to many in the Perkins area as “Pa –Pete”. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren often Gold Fishing with his grandchildren in his stock tanks. He was a member of the Tryon First Baptist Church and also attended Immanuel Baptist Church in Perkins, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ida Bostian; his wife, Josephine Bostian; his brothers Lavern Bostian, Wyman Bostian, and Junior Bostian; as well as his sisters Danah Cundiff, Bessie Everett, and one infant sister; and one son-in-law, Kriston Garriott.
He is survived by his daughters, Karen Garriott of McLoud, OK and Debbie Sadler and her husband Beanie of Perkins, OK; five grandchildren, Aaron Garriott and his wife, Gina of OKC, OK and Kristy Jordan and her husband Clay of McLoud, OK, and Nick and Penny Sadler, Brent and Mandy Sadler, and Cody and Taylor Sadler of Perkins, OK; his great-grandchildren Ashlyn and Austin Theodore Garriott, Josey and Jett Jordan, Lily, Rocky, Kyndal, Kylee, Ali, Laiken, Cody Joe Sadler, Jr. of Perkins, OK.
His pallbearers will be his grandchildren Aaron Garriott, Nick Sadler, Brent Sadler, Cody Sadler, Clay Jordan, and his good friend Don Hood. Honorary pallbearers will be his great-grandchildren Rocky Sadler, Austin Garriott, Jett Jordan, and Cody Joe Sadler, Jr.
To all who knew Pete he was selfless, strong and genuinely kind. His continued strength was exemplified until the very end. Though his smiles may have been rare, family could often catch a glimpse of a beaming smile when he was spending time with his grand-children and great-grandchildren.
