Obituary for Joseph E. "Joe" Marr

Joseph E. Marr, 58, of Bloomsburg, passed peacefully on February 3, 2018 with family by his side at his residence after a two year and four month battle with stage IV pancreatic cancer. He was born May 2, 1959 in Bristol, Pa, a son of Sally F. (Fulcomer) Marr of Bristol, PA, and the late James E. Marr.
He attended Danville Area High School and later worked at Kawneer in Bloomsburg for 10 years until he left to begin a new career at Verizon as a Cable Splicing Technician for 20 years. He was an avid dog lover and adventurer; who enjoyed hiking, fishing, kayaking, snorkeling in the Caribbean, and motorcycling. His favorite past-times were taking long walks with his wife and dogs and spending his nights around a camp fire. He was a licensed pilot, an exceptional landlord who took great pride in maintaining properties and providing for tenants. Joe was a wonderful husband and father. Joe was a member of the American Legion Post 273 and the Catawissa Boat Club.
Joe is survived by his wife the former Margaret Rose; stepson Corey Bower and his wife Kate; stepdaughter Bliss Bower and her son, Jace Bower; two sisters, Tracey Steele and Amy Marr.
He was preceded in death by his father, and brother Glenn Marr.
A celebration of life to commemorate the great guy Joe was will be February 17, 2018 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Lime Ridge Community Center, located at the corners of 4th Street and Hughes Street, Bloomsburg. The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care from friends and family, Geisinger Medical Center Danville, and Geisinger Home Health and Hospice.
