Condolences

Condolence From: Bill Burkhard
Condolence: The Greatest Generation and Nation lost a US Army WWII Tanker who served his country and community from the day he took the military oath until his passing. Fred was no ordinary hero; served God and country with honor and love that endures in the hearts and minds of those who know and served with him either in church and duty to America.

I came to know Fred in 1974 when I joined the 318th Light Equipment Company Army Reserve unit in State College; we became colleagues in service and good friends for the rest of our lives. You see, Fred and I both had 19 November as our birthdates, albeit 21 years apart. Fred, Blanch, Karen and I made it a point to annually celebrate our birthdays by dining out; our friendship, love and respect for one another grew every passing year.

Fred’s frame towered over most people I’ve know; however, he was one of the most consummate kind and compassionate person I’ve known. In my seven years as a Reservist, he mentored me from a young Lieutenant all the way though my term as Company Commander. And after I moved on in my military career, we developed a lifelong friendship that flourished.

To my mentor, friend and father-like American hero I offer my prayer that God Bless and keep you now and evermore! God Bless Frederick J. Raymond for you’ve been a good and faithful servant your entire life.

To Blanch and the family, you have our Deepest Sympathy and my God be with you always as Fred’s memory lives on…

Condolence: So sad to hear of Uncle Fred's passing. Such a special man. I'm sad that we are so far away and won't be able to be at the services. I send our love to Aunt Blanche and all the family.

Condolence: Prayers and fond memories are what we have to remember our dearly departed. May the love of family and friends comfort you during these difficult days, my most heartfelt condolences.

Some of my fondest memories of Fred are from carpooling with he and Blanche to work, we had some good times and laughs. Godspeed dear friend.
