Condolence: To Mary, Joe Jr., Matt and family, I am so sorry for your loss, and for not being there today in person to pay my respects.

Mr. DeLuca (Big Joe) was a phenomenal guy. Both he and Mary we're my adopted parents thru grade school and until college, they fed me and sheltered me, even took me along for family vacations. I can't imagine the cost and extra burden I created, but they loved and took care of me as one of their own... and believe me, that probably saved my life.

Big Joe was always happy to see you, he was always good for a laugh and a smile, and he never complained. He was a great husband, dad, and coach. And he was certainly a role model for any of us who aspire to be any of those things, let alone all of them.

Big Joe was more of a father to me than my own dad, he would come to my baseball games even after his own sons were on other teams, bc he knew it mattered, and I will never forget everything I learned from him along the way. From his exquisite taste in beers, his famous card collection, to his veal scallopini recipe, the man was a legend.

I love this family and I love you Big Joe, you will be missed, rest in peace. Fly Joe Fly. #RIPBJB

Condolence: Mrs Deluca, Joe, Matt and family,
I am so very sorry and sad to hear about Mr. Deluca passing. He was a fantastic man who taught me a lot about life, sports and “investing” in baseball cards. You don’t always realize or understand some of the lessons being taught to you when you are young kid but Mr Deluca taught me a ton and I am forever grateful. RIP Mr Deluca! So glad you were able to see the Eagles win a SuperBowl.
