Seneca Falls – Richard M. “Ricky” Thurston, 49, of Ovid St., Seneca Falls, NY, passed away, unexpectedly, on Tuesday (February 6, 2018) at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, NY.

Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls on Monday (February 12) from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (February 13) at 11 AM at the funeral home with Reverend Phyllis Granger, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Geneva, NY, officiating. Spring Burial will be in Canoga Cemetery in Canoga, NY.

Ricky was born in Auburn, NY on May 12, 1968 the son of Carl & Kathryn Parish Thurston. He had resided most of his life in Seneca Falls. He had been employed as a roofer for Ken Guy Roofing in Auburn, NY. He was a member of the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992 and Ducks Unlimited. Ricky had a passion for cooking. You could often find him donating food out there in his community to his family and friends. He gave to people before himself.

2 daughters – Krystal (Giovanni) Cologgi – Victor, NY
Alica Lannon – Palmyra, NY
1 son – Ryan Thurston of Seneca Falls, NY
His parents, Carl & Kathy Parish Thurston – Seneca Falls, NY
His grandchildren – Gianna & Aria Cologgi, Aiden & Alivia Lannon, & Armani Woolfolk
3 brothers – Duke (Liz) Thurston – North Carolina
Carl Thurston – Seneca Falls, NY
Edward (Nicole) Thurston – Seneca Falls, NY
His half-sister – Donna (John) Butts – Connecticut
Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews
Ricky was predeceased by two uncles whom he had a very special place in his heart for: Bill & Fred Parish.
