John L. Chiarenza
John L. Chiarenza passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on February 1st in Naples, Florida. He is predeceased by his parents Cologero and Maria Chiarenza, and his brother Peter Chiarenza. He was married to his beloved wife Rose for over 50 years.
As a loving father and grandfather, John is survived by his daughters: Carol (James) Thornton of Naples, FL and Camille (Christopher) Sommers of North Wales, PA; grandchildren: Matthew and Stephanie Thornton. He is also survived by his brothers: Carl (Heidi) and Robert (Linda) of Rochester, NY; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
John was born on September 2, 1926 in Rochester, NY. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was a skilled trade machinist at Delco Products, a division of General Motors Corporation for 33 years. He was a kind and gentle man who was an avid reader and enjoyed photography, as well as a loyal New York Giants and Yankees fan.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Rochester, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association in his name.
