James Dewayne Wofford, 64, departed this life on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at his residence in Fox. Memorial Services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Ratliff City with Bro. Glynn Baker officiating. Services are under the direction and care of Alexander Funeral Homes & Crematory in Ratliff City.

James was born July 14, 1953 in Pauls Valley, OK to the late Mr. James Eldon Wofford and Mrs. Lottie Faye (Hicks) Wofford.

Mr. Wofford grew up in the Pauls Valley area and graduated from Pauls Valley High School. He had lived in Utah at one time and then returned to Oklahoma where he would make his home in Fox since 1998. He had worked for Nubs Well Servicing for over 20 years. James enjoyed drawing, watching old westerns, collecting vintage lighters, shooting guns, and “putting the pedal to the metal” as he would say.

Mr. Wofford is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Melford Hicks, and a great nephew, Brody Speerbrecher.

He is survived by his companion, Ilene Bruce of the home and her children, Michael and his wife Carrie Bruce of Duncan and Sheila Bruce of Mustang; sisters, Mary Digby of Davis, Janie Kizziar of Maysville, LeQueta Lackey of Paoli, Lorita Griffin and husband Mark of Joy, OK, Priscilla Brown of Ft. Supply; son, James Chad Wofford of Oklahoma City; step daughter, Corie Harvey of Healdton; grandchildren, Jesse James, Jonah, Jett, Dream, Rebel, Ryott, Ravyn, Jayden, Emily, and Kaylee. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Tivis, Nub Sullivan, Johnny Speerbrecher, Shannon Speerbrecher, Michael Bruce, and Steve Kizziar.
