Obituary for Edwin Henry Mueller

MUELLER, Edwin Henry Jr – a resident of Ramsey, NJ for over 50 years, passed away on February 9th, 2018 at the age of 92. Edwin was born in Queens, New York to Edwin and Lydia (Joss) Mueller on April 17, 1925. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving in the Pacific during WW II aboard the USS Matar (AK-119). After leaving the service, he attended the University of Michigan and graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He then went on to work for Western Union for nearly 40 years and was involved in many of their satellite and communications projects. He was married to his wife Marie (nee Braun) for 67 years, who predeceased him on January 20th of this year. Beloved father, grandfather and friend, he is survived by his son Thomas and his girlfriend Lorie Bussanich of Kinnelon, his son John and his wife Karen of Wyckoff, his daughter Alice Mashig and her husband Thomas of Mahwah, and eight grandchildren: Christopher, Julie, Kaitlyn, Kevin, and Allison Mueller and Hunter, Harrison and Malcolm Mashig. He was predeceased by his sister Carol Mueller.

Ed was very active in the Archer United Methodist Church, and was involved with ushering, assisting with the treasury and perhaps his most fulfilling role was providing maintenance for the church, as he had the unique ability to fix almost anything. Throughout his life he loved all sports and was an avid tennis player. He also enjoyed reading, tinkering, working in the yard and playing cards. His favorite times were spent with family and close friends, enjoying yearly vacations at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and he will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial service will be held in honor of both Ed and his wife Marie at the Archer United Methodist Church, 37 E. Allendale Avenue, Allendale, NJ at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 17, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ed and Marie’s name to Archer United Methodist Church, 37 E. Allendale Avenue, Allendale, NJ 07401 (www.archerchurch.org).
