William Renzo Loney
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of William “Bill” Renzo Loney, 77 of Rainy Crest, formerly of Emo, ON. on Saturday February 10, 2018.
Bill was born on January 14, 1941 in Emo, ON. to Lawrence and Grace (Strachan). He was united in marriage to Julie (Cayer) on June 6, 1964.
Bill attended school in Emo and Fort Frances High School. He started working for his dad at the Cloverleaf Store at a young age, delivering groceries on his bike until he could drive. When his dad (Lawrence) retired Bill and his brother Dave took ownership until Bill became ill. Bill was very active in community services, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Fire Department, Lions Club, Treasurer of the Knox United Church, on the church board, worked with the church youth group as a young man, Church Choir, Curling Club, Centennial Achievement Award.
Bill was a unique, quiet, kind man, always wanting to please, a man of humor and one liners. He was very proud of his home and especially his children. Bill found refuge at their lake home on Clearwater Lake, a lifelong favorite spot.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Julie of 53 years, daughter Kathy (Theodore) Lassche of Duncan, B.C., grandchildren Kara and Meghan, son Paul Loney of Emo, ON, son John (Darlene) Loney of Didsbury, AB., grandchildren Reagan and Jack, son Michael (Joann) Loney of Emo, ON., grandchildren Emily and Benjamin.
Bill is survived by his brother Dave and wife Janet Loney of Emo, ON., brother-in-law Fred Klug of Emo, ON., and sister-in-law Della and husband Larry Cocquyt of Melita, MB., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Grace, siblings Larry Loney, Judy (Fred) Klug, and sister-in-law Gloria Loney.
At Bill’s request cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bill’s life will take place at the Northridge Funeral Home, Emo, ON. on Saturday March 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Francis Flook officiating. Internment will take place at a later date.
As Bill always had a warm smile and a light joke to share with whomever he met, please share a smile or a laugh with someone you meet.

Though his smile has gone forever,
