The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Constantina "Diane" Botana can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: In Memory of Sister Constantina Botana
September 4,1926-February 11, 2018

Sister Constantina was initiated into Palestine Chapter No. 114, Order of the Eastern Star, on May 1, 1956 and signed the bylaws as Constantina Nasos. She joined the Order under her father, Samuel's Masonic affiliation.

I met Constantina when she received her 50-year membership pin in 2006. I know she wanted to be called Diane, but I have always called her Constantina, because to me, this name was beautiful, as was she.

It was then that we started our friendship and love for each other.

She started coming to meetings regularly after receiving her pin. At that time she lived in Waltham and then moved to Millis. This did not stop her from attending meetings, even as her health gradually deteriorated.

The members grew to know and love her and looked forward to greeting her every month. She participated in all our little projects and once a month brought a bag of goodies that Sister Lil Simons would take to our Veterans Hospital in West Roxbury.

She loved her family so very much and proudly talked about her grandchildren. Keep those memories alive always, some will make you laugh out loud and others bring a tear to the eye, but every moment is/was precious.

The members of Palestine Chapter will dearly miss her, as will I.

Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean we'll miss you, Sister Constantina, until we meet again! (Author Unknown)
