Obituary for Ruth M. Burke

Ruth M. Burke
Ruth M. Burke, 83, wife of the late James H. Burke, died on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain Campus after a lengthy illness. Born in Hartford on December 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Howard L. and Hazel H. (Hancock) Moran. She had resided in Southington, Lenoir, NC and Lewiston, ME. Ruth attended local schools in Windsor Locks. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane Carroll of Meriden; two sons, Henry Burke and his wife Cheryl of Middletown and Paul Burke of Southington and his wife Kristine of Meriden; three grandchildren, Patrick Carroll and his wife Crys, Jessica Carroll of Meriden and Autumn Burke of Meriden; one great-grandson, Ian Carroll; and a sister, Lois Polowitzer of Rangely, ME. She was predeceased by her brother, Howard Moran.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the chapel in the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT 06457. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT 06450 on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Red Cross.
