My Nana

Having spent my entire life with her so far, Jacqueline's lasting impact on me as a person is incredibly strong. There isn't a single memory I have of my family where she was absent. Having practically been raised by her, she was much like a second mother to me. My mind is full of wonderful memories and experiences that I shared with her along the way. We shared countless laughs together and she was always willing to share some of her wisdom with me. Even during her darkest days, she'd always find a way to humor me. Growing up, it was always comforting to come home from school and be greeted by none other than my wonderful grandmother each day. Even as far back as my infancy, she loved and took care of me like her very own son. To say that we shared a close relationship wouldn't quite do it justice.

Her passing is bittersweet. She may finally be free of the intense suffering and pain she endured for the better part of the last few years. However, she will undoubtedly be missed dearly by myself and her family. Her legacy extends back well beyond the date of my birth, holding a truly immeasurable amount of trials she endured. As time progresses, I hope to further learn of her history that transcends what little I knew of her. I look forward to honoring her name with none other than her favorites, and I wish to preserve my memories of her as well as I can.

Jacqueline was a sister, mother, and grandmother, but she'll always be my Nana. Rest in piece, Nana. I'll miss you. My days just won't shine as much without you here.
