Life Reflections

“Traveling the road of life creates many memories that lives in the hearts and minds of those whose lives were touched during the journey. And when this journey on earth is completed, we find peace in the thought that a new and better journey begins.”

Shirley Deloris Nelson was born June 28, 1959 in Sumter, SC to Almeta Gaymon Nelson and the late Furman Nelson, Sr.

Shirley was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduated of Sumter High School. She cherished her employment and enjoyed working as a patient care assistant. She was last employed by Santee Lynches Council of Aging.

Shirley accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior during her early childhood. Shirley loved the Lord and enjoyed attending St. Peters Church. She was a praying Christian woman, who was dedicated to her family.

God blessed Shirley all of her life with many friends and even strangers that have crossed her path during her stay here on earth. Shirley was a strong woman of faith and full of life. She was loved by everybody and would anything to help anyone.

In addition to her father, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Furman Nelson, Jr., maternal grandparents, Tanzie and Corine Gaymon, paternal grandparents, Annie Ruth Nelson and Harkless Sinkler and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

God picked another precious flower from His garden when the soul of Mrs. Shirley Deloris Nelson was called home to rest on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Palmetto Health Baptist, Columbia, SC.
