Maynard Albert  Stine Sr.
MAYNARD ALBERT STINE, SR.
Maynard A. Stine, Sr., 92, of Deford, died peacefully Thursday, February 22, 2018 in his home. He was born September 18, 1925 in Capac to Albert and Josephine (Klann) Stine. He married Lucille Maxine Underwood December 23, 1950 in Parkland Presbyterian Church of Flint.
Maynard served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a dairy farmer and was a board member of the Michigan Milk Processors Association. Maynard was Novesta Township Supervisor and Assessor for twelve years. He was a very active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where he served for many years as a trustee, elder and on the church council. Maynard enjoyed polka dancing and camping. He and Lucille loved to travel, especially to Sault Ste. Marie. Their travel destinations included Alaska, Nova Scotia and the Pacific Ocean on one of their many trips out west.
Maynard is survived by his wife, Lucille; children: Maynard (Catherine) Stine, Jr. of Saginaw; David Stine of Ypsilanti; Michael (Denise) Stine of Deford; Diane (Michael) Lowe of Deford; Karen (Peter) Fittante of Durand; Susan Smith of Cass City; Brian (Peggy) Stine of Applegate; Laura (Scott) Dennis of Deford; 19 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sisters: Irene Kinyon of Fishers; Louise Schwanke of Bay City; Alberta (Norbert) Conrad of Capac; Joann Sholtis of Capac; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by twin infant sons: Mark Stine, Michael Stine; his grandson, Robert Lowe; sister, Alice Ogden; brothers-in-law: Harry Kinyon, Vernon Schwanke, James Sholtis, Les Ogden.
Funeral service held 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 26, 2018 in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cass City with Rev. Steve Bagnall officiating. Interment will be in Novesta Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or Compassus Hospice, Cass City. Family and friends may share memories, prayers and stories with the family at www.kranzfuneralhome.com.
