Obituary for Delbert Lewis Law
DELBERT LEWIS LAW
His Legacy…Delbert Law, age 75, of Hamburg Township, passed away February 22, 2018. He was born on March 15, 1942 in Cass City, Michigan to Clinton Lewis Law and Margaret (Merchant) Law. Delbert married the love of his life, Shirley Marie Ross, on October 26, 1968 in Munger, Michigan.
Delbert was a graduate of Cass City High School and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Michigan. Delbert was an adventurous soul, who enjoyed skydiving, racing cars, sailing, photography, cross country skiing, camping, and boating. He was also an avid U of M sports fan and he attended nearly every home football game since his college days. He was devoted to his community. Delbert helped to grow the Hamburg Community soccer program, and coached their first all-girls team, the Pink Flames. He continued to coach soccer for over 10 years. He was also active in his neighborhood community and helped organize the annual Pig Roasts. Above all, he loved his family and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
His Family…Delbert will be missed by his daughter, Elizabeth Luke; grandson, Nolan; sister, Sherry (Wayne) Dillon; mother-in-law, Loretta Ross; brothers-in-law: Jerry (Deborah) Ross, Richard Ross SJ, Bob (Patti) Ross; sisters-in-law: Sharon (Dan) Delamarter, Mary (Jack) Thacker; and his loving nieces, nephews, and many life-long friends. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; mother, Margaret; father, Clinton; and father-in-law, Bernard Ross.
His Farewell…Delbert’s family and friends will gather for a memorial service Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 11am, at Kranz Funeral Home in Cass City, MI. A luncheon at Rolling Hills Golf Course in Cass City will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be given to family for future designation.
