Obituary for Dennis "Bear" M. Whitney
Dennis M. “Bear” Whitney, 58, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Davis Hospice Center.
Dennis was born June 6, 1959, in Mason City, Iowa, a son of Stuart and Irvalee (Bamford) Whitney.
Dennis graduated from Woodbine High School in Woodbine, Iowa in 1978. He attended Universal Technical Institute in Omaha, Nebraska and moved to Cheyenne shortly after graduating in 1982. His love and devotion for children resulted in a 32 year career with the Laramie County School District #1 as a school bus driver, retiring in 2012. His many interests included fishing, hunting and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed his dart league, photography, classic cars and collecting grizzly bears.
Dennis is survived by his sister, Denise Ramseyer and husband, Daniel; nephew, Zachary Austin; and niece, Taylor Raymseyer.
His is preceded in death by his mother, Irvalee Ulmer.
His family will celebrate Dennis’ life at a later date. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
