Obituary for Robert Wolke

Robert Wolke died February 25, 2018. He was 77 years old.
Known as Bob or Bobby to family and friends, he was born July 10, 1940 in Glen Cove, New York, to Henry and Helen Wolke. His parents owned Henry's Luncheonette & Confectionary where Bobby and his siblings worked over the years.
Bob served in the United States Army and was posted in Korea for two years.
Bobby continued in the food business, eventually working for a large northeast grocery store as a skilled baker. It was during this time that he met and married the love of his life, Rosa.
When Bobby retired, he and Rosa moved to Hull, Georgia. Bob became involved with a close-knit men’s group that meets weekly to study, pray and share life together. His deep faith and dry wit will be greatly missed among those men and their families. Bob and Rosa were also members of New Covenant Worship Center in Athens, Georgia. Bobby always enjoyed the teaching and fellowship at New Covenant.

Bobby’s oldest brother, John, is in Heaven and is survived by his wife, Diane Wolke and their children (Lisa and Daryl and families).
Bobby is also survived by his:
Brother Fred, his wife Lois, and their sons (Gordon and Steven and families);
Sister Carol, her husband Clifford Arnold, and their children (Karen, Christopher and Tara and families);
Sister Susan, her husband Kevin Cocchiola, and their son (Jason Tilton and family);
Sister Valerie, her husband Michael McCauley, and their children (Travis, Ryan and Shauna and families); and
Wife Rosa, and her family in the Unites States and El Salvador.

Bobby’s family and friends are grateful for the love and care that Rosa provided over the years.
Bobby’s family have fond memories of him playing with the children and teasing them: he loved to laugh and have a good time. Bobby was always there for each member of his family.
Bob was a generous man and helped whenever he could. He was especially supportive of Rosa’s nephews and nieces. Recently, he and Rosa proudly attended nephew Danny’s graduation from U.S. Army Boot Camp.
Two years ago, a little dog showed up on Bob and Rosa’s doorstep. Chico captured their hearts and added much joy to their lives. A few days ago, when Bob made the decision that he was ready to go home, he talked about how grateful he was that Chico would be around to comfort Rosa.
We know that Bobby is at home. We look forward to seeing him again one day, and we will all miss him until that time.
