Obituary for William A. Carey Jr.

Carey, William A. Jr. of Arlington. February 26th. Beloved husband of 43 years to the late Norma A. (Gallerani). Loving father of Michelle Ann Carey of Arlington and son of the late William A. Carey Sr. and Alice (Shea). Brother of Patricia Finnigan and the late Paul J. Carey. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Former Massachusetts Co-Operative Bank Examiner, former Vice President & Treasurer of the Volunteer Co-Operative Bank Boston, treasurer of Needham Bank, past president 1974 of Massachusetts Association of School Committees and former Arlington School Committee chairman and member. Life member of Touchdown Club of Arlington since 1974 and past president from 1980-1981. Member of MIAA hockey board, Arlington 200th Anniversary Committee 2006, Arlington town meeting, Council of Aging Board member 2005-2008, volunteer MA Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) a national program out of Elder Services of Merrimack Valley, and former parish council member, eucharistic minister & lector of St. James Church. Relatives and friends are invited to visit in the DeVito Funeral Home, 1145 Mass. Avenue, ARLINGTON on Sunday from 2-6 pm and to a funeral mass on Monday at 10 am in St. Agnes Church. Please go directly to church. Burial to follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
