Horst Wolf, was born on December 29, 1938 in Munich, Germany to Anton and Anna (Vitous) Wolf. He was 79 Years old when he passed away on February 25, 2018. As a young man, he made his way to the United States where he ended up at Fort Carson Colorado as a Soldier in the United States Army. He was a mechanic in the motor pool. Upon honorable discharge from the Army, he remained a resident of Colorado Springs for over 50 years. He pursued his love for cars by owning a Gulf Gas Station and auto repair garage in the 70’s. He owned one Husky Gas Station and auto repair garage and managed another until 1984. He then worked for a local Porsche/Audi Dealership until 1985 when he went to work for the State of Colorado in the newly formed emissions compliance section. He retired from the State of Colorado Department of Revenue in 2004.

He had a variety of hobbies and interests in his life. He loved a good challenging chess game. He coached soccer to kids of all ages and experience levels ranging from beginner all the way up to competitive leagues. He loved nature, camping in the mountains and exploring trails. He loved all animals but was particularly fond of eagles.

He is survived by his two children: Anna Ruiz of Sacramento, California, Richard Wolf of Farmerville, Louisiana; his step-children: John Newman of McAllen, Texas, Fern Long-Brewer of Wellington, Florida, and Allan Long of Denver, Colorado; his grandchildren: Taya Ruiz, Garrett Ruiz, Cara Mia Ruiz, Alex Evers, Brookelynne Brewer, Michelle Radcliff, Leonard Long, Vanesa Meyer, Rachel Butler, Tyrus Androlewicz, Shawna Schuler, Suzanne Long; his great-grandchildren: Luke Evers, Levi Evers, Landon Evers, Willow Shelp, Mina Shelp, Wilson Bronson, Catherine Carey, Gabriel Schuler, Cyrus Kelley, Levi Stephenson, Atreyu Reynolds, Jade Lana Barros, Leif Barros, Ivan Barros. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Anna Wolf; his sister, Gertrude Aniol; his sister, Sonja Lynch; his sister, Marie Bates; his step-son, Elias Wolf; and a grandson, Jeffrey Long.

A funeral service will be held at 5 P.M. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 East Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A private inurnment will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
