Condolence From: Tom Filocco
Condolence: I was in the last 5th grade class that Mr Ahern taught at Stelton School. He is the one teacher that I never forgot from Stelton. Not only was he a great teacher but very kind and understanding person as well. The fact that he spent his later years reading to children is a testimony to his character and dedication. Mr Ahern left Stelton mid-way through the year and I can still remember how excited we where when he came back to visit the class before the end of the school year. He has always embodied in my mind what a teacher should be.

Condolence: My memory of John is that he was a dedicated educator who saw his role as helping children learn and have success. In the process of doing that he was respected and admired by all who had the privilege of working with him. He left his mark on the lives of many young people and they are the better for it!
