Obituary for Ramona Jean Munneke (Bultsma)

Ramona Jean  Munneke (Bultsma)
Ramona Jean Munneke, 73, of Mitchell, SD, formerly of Platte, SD passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Memorial Services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Mitchell. A Committal Service was held at the Platte City Cemetery.

Ramona Jean (Bultsma) Munneke was born on May 25, 1944 to Ted and Ann (Jongsma) Bultsma in Platte, SD and was joined by three sisters. In 1962, she graduated from Dakota Christian High School. On December 27, 1962 she was united in marriage to Harold Munneke in Platte. From this union, a son, Ron was born.

Ramona worked at DeBoer’s Grocery Coffee Shop, cleaned houses for many, was at Bischke Drug for 15 years and employed for Charles Mix Law Enforcement as a Holdover Attendant for a few years, along with helping out on their dairy farm. She later started working as a Merchandiser in Mitchell.

Due to Harold’s health issues, they moved to Mitchell in 2015.

Grateful for having shared in Ramona’s life: her husband of 55 years, Harold Munneke of Mitchell, SD; her son, Ron (Shari) Munneke and two grandchildren: Matt and Melissa all of Baraboo, WI; along with three sisters-in-law: Betty (Harold) Beukelman of Volga, SD, Elsie Namminga of Lake Andes, SD and Susie Munneke of Glen Carbon, IL.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Ann; a sister, Marla; parents-in-law, John and Clarenda Munneke; and a brother-in-law, Marvin (Joan) Munneke.
