Late Mrs. Myrtle Chelliah (Leela)

Myrtle Chelliah(Leela), 80, Toronto, passed away, Saturday, March 03, 2017 at her 65 Greencrest Circuit, 507 Apartment home.

Celebration of life service will be held at Chapel Ridge Funeral home in Markham ON, celebration mass will be held in St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church Markham and burial will be held in Christ the King Catholic cemetery in Markham.

Myrtle Chelliah (Leela) was born December 17, 1937 in Jaffna (Northern Province Sri Lanka). She grew up in Sillialai and studied at Illavalai Girls School. She enjoyed playing net ball and she is athletic in her school times. She also enjoyed tutoring to kids. She is very religious and lived her life in Catholic faith. She was a member of various prayer groups in Jaffna and Scarborough. She married to late Vincent Chelliah in Welipenna.

Myrtle Chelliah(Leela) was born for Bastampillai and Francispillai (Mariama – Twinkle Star). She was a daughter in law of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Chelliah. Myrtle is survived by her husband Vincent, daughters Srimahal (Sri Lanka), Shathiabama (Toronto), Irangani (France), Son Franklin Suresh (Winnipeg, Canada), daughter Mathivathana (Sri Lanka), Geraldine Meera (Toronto), son Jude (Toronto), late Son in law Jayaratnam, Son in law Kanthasamy, Son in law Jeganathan, daughter in law Som, son in law Ranjan, son in law Kamalanathan, and daughter in law Ann. She also blessed by granddaughters, grandsons and great grandchildren.

She is also accompanied by siblings, sister in laws, brother in laws, many nieces, nephew and extended families.
