The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Joan VanScoy can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Tricia Gregory
Condolence: It was so great to reconnect with Joan after so many years of not being in the area. She seemed so genuinely happy to be in touch again and so gracious, saying stop by anytime. When I started bringing Dad to the NSHS Strawberry Festival, the two of them had such a wonderful time chatting about old and current times. Dad really enjoyed that I know. I am sure Peter, you and Randy have many, many such wonderful memories of her. It is sad to lose her, but what a long life she had! May those memories comfort you in your loss.

Condolence: Honesty, integrity, and inviting are words to describe the lady I knew. I wonder how many people North Salem hired to take her place when Joan retired? I am also reminded of her very small print that made one concentrate when reading her writing. One more memory...a delicious potent drink she taught me to make.

Condolence: Joan was one of the most vibrant persons who I ever met. She was caring, thoughtful and always full of life.

Her WWII remembrances were always a delight to hear.

She will be missed by family and friend alike.
