Obituary for Ruth Wilson (Hutchinson)

Ruth Wilson (Hutchinson)
Verna Ruth Wilson, 90, passed away peacefully Friday evening, March 9, 2018, surrounded by her family at the Kingston of Ashland Nursing Home. She was under the care of Hospice of North Central Ohio.
She was born May 18, 1927 in Loudonville, Ohio to the late Leon and Catherine (Conrad) Hutchinson.
Ruth lived most of her life in the Perrysville, Ohio area, spending her teenage years living on the Leone Walton family farm. After graduating from Perrysville High School in 1946, she worked at Mansfield Plumbing Products, leaving to raise her family. Ruth later worked several years at the Flxible Company in Loudonville, Ohio.
As a member of the Loudonville Wildlife Conservation Club at Pleasant Hill Lake, Ruth spent many days boating with her family and friends Iona Stauffer, Helen Weltmer and Ella Shannon. Weekends were spent sailing with the Jacque Lingenfelter family. Rain or shine, the lake was Ruth’s second home.
Ruth is survived by son Jon (Beth) Wilson of Jeromesville, Ohio; daughters Marilee (Eric) Snyder; Carol Sue Wilson; JoAnn (Doug) Smetzer all of Ashland, Ohio; three grandchildren, Clark (Alisa) Smetzer; Chelsea Smetzer; Derek Smetzer; great grandson Evan Smetzer; sister Jane (Lester) Jerger of Florida; three half-brothers, Terry, Charles and John Hutchinson; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ruth’s wish was to live long enough to meet her new great grandson, which came true at Christmas, much to her delight.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore C. Wilson; sister Thelma Boubary; brother Robert Hutchinson; twin brother Virgil Richard Hutchinson; half-brother Albert Hutchinson and half-sister Anne Hutchinson.
At Ruth’s request, no memorial service will be held. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. Online condolences may be shared on the funeral home’s website at denbowfh.com.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Green-Perrysville Fire Department, 181 E. 3rd St., Perrysville, Ohio 44864, or The Cat House Feline Sanctuary, 1130 E. Main St. #136, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
