I just heard of Phil's passing today (Jun 21). We belong to a Vet Group together. More than that we both served in the 173d Airborne Brigade in Vietnam (at different times) which made us brother paratroopers. Phil was also a survivor of one of the bloodiest battles in the war: Dak To or Hill 875 as it was known in the 173d. He was a heck of a guy! I use to tell him he reminded me of an actor from the 50's who always played a rough gritty 'grunt" or marine. That was Phil. My condolences to his family, He was a man and father you could be proud of.
