Ken and Jackie Baker
It goes without saying that Jackie and I are very sad to hear of your mom and our dear friend passing. Our loss is only buffered by the many fond memories we have from our relationship with Lois. She bought our first house so we could purchase another. All we had was a hand shake and Lois' word. With Lois that was better than a contract. She was true to her word regardless of any extenuating circumstances or changes. Lois did what she said she would do.
I went to work for Lois in my second career and I have never had a more pleasurable job. Her wisdom and wit were invaluable especially her one liners and down home approach to business.
"Don't count your sale until after closing". "That $10,000 client just may grow to be much more in the future". And I will never forget when we were re-arranging office space and we wanted to be sure Lois approved of what we planned; she said, "kids it don't matter to me, I have sold real estate sitting on a paint bucket."
My favorite Lois Real Estate story though is when she called me from Florida. She attended a memorial service for a friend in Florida and in discussion with the family of the deceased she got a lead on a Basketball Coach that was moving to the White River Twp. area. She called me with the contact information, I set up some showings for the coaches wife, conducted the tours, and Lois closed the deal. I teased her that ONLY our Lois could close a deal over a casket and grieving family.
I want to thank all of you for sharing your mom with not just Jackie and me but all of the many people that Lois helped and guided through real estate deals with her honesty, humility and humor.
We have lost a very very special person. Now would be a good time to buy a little piece of heaven, God has a Great Angel Realtor.
