Bill was a great person who always had time and energy for the important things in life. His friendship was most sincere, his concern and care deep and authentic, his actions always very thoughtful and generous. I was a 17 years old Rotary International exchange student when we met in 1993, and yet he treated me with such respect and interest, I felt as though I had found a long lost family member. He and Arlene visited Bulgaria while I was in the US, and they went out of their way for hours in order to visit my mom in a small village, which meant the world to mom and me. And so it was through the years, always part of my challenges and successes, always offering a helping hand, until the very last time we spoke on the phone. I will never forget you Bill, and I dearly miss you!
