Condolence From: Sarah Lee
Condolence: Thoughts and prayers are with you Arlene and your family. I appreciate the example you and Bill set by being there for each other-going to both churches, United Methodist and Holy Family. I remember hearing Bill sing-he had such a great voice. God Bless and comfort you in your time of loss.

Condolence: I was saddened to read of Bill's passing. He was a special person to many in ways he might never have known. He was always special to me. As a new student to Clarkston High School my junior year transferring from a very small rural community and being very shy and nervous the first day, Bill, "the big man on campus" sensed all this and sought me out to say kind words and how welcomed I was. The obituary speaks volumes of this special man.

Condolence: I had the privilege of working with Bill for the length of his last career at CCI-Speer. There are few people I've met who could hold a candle to Bill for his incredible sense of humor, continuing pleasant personality, or unchallenged competence in anything he did. As a young Supervisor, Bill taught me many important things in his job as Purchasing Agent, not the least of which was that one had to be nice to people if at all possible. He was always much better at that than I was!! Rest in Peace, Bill!!

Condolence: Bill was a great person who always had time and energy for the important things in life. His friendship was most sincere, his concern and care deep and authentic, his actions always very thoughtful and generous. I was a 17 years old Rotary International exchange student when we met in 1993, and yet he treated me with such respect and interest, I felt as though I had found a long lost family member. He and Arlene visited Bulgaria while I was in the US, and they went out of their way for hours in order to visit my mom in a small village, which meant the world to mom and me. And so it was through the years, always part of my challenges and successes, always offering a helping hand, until the very last time we spoke on the phone. I will never forget you Bill, and I dearly miss you!

Condolence: Through a long and varied life Bill retained the health, enthusiasm and curiosity of youth, tempered with leadership experience . He was one of those rare people that everyone liked. His tales were both scary and funny. One time at CCI, we were on a business conferece call with the woman CEO of a chemical supplier. She ended the call with, “I'd rather listen to you guys than watch the Comedy Channel! It is fitting he rest with brothers in arms among the heros at Arlington. Along with
his family, we will all miss him.

Condolence: I remember Bill flying to the National Air Races in Reno, Nv about 20 years ago when he was low on fuel due to "caved in" fuel tank (had just been tuned up) and he had to call"Mayday" to get onto the field. All the other planes scattered. He was not flustered at all and from his previous life as pilot and trainer, I doubt if anything phased him. He was a generous and kind man and know he will be missed by many.
