Obituary for
Eileen Marie Vallee (Ouimette)
WATERFORD Eileen Marie Vallee - 92 years old, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018. She was the only child of Francis and Ethel (MacDuff) Ouimette, of Northside, Waterford, NY. She graduated from Catholic High, where she met her husband, Roland. They were married in 1952 and lived with her mother until 1954, when Roland completed building their house near Sugarloaf Pond in Northside. Until Eileen’s move to Atria Senior Living in Guilderland, NY, in 2016, Eileen had only lived in the house she was born in and the house Roland built for them.
Eileen’s initial job was as a comptroller with the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P). She stayed home to raise their three children, Wayne, Sharleen, and Mark. Later in life, she worked for the New York State Department of Taxation processing income tax returns.
Eileen had a rich life, with many close, life-long friends. Eileen enjoyed participated in numerous St. Anne’s Church activities, boating on Lake George in their boat, the Valleeum, and travelling. Upon retirement, Eileen and Roland traveled extensively within the US and Bermuda.
Eileen was predeceased by her parents, husband Roland D. Vallee, and daughter Sharleen Vallee Fox. She is survived by her sons Wayne Vallee (Sheila) of Lenexa, KS, and Mark Vallee (Donna) of Niskayuna, NY. Her 9 grandchildren include Jillian Vallee Sirridge (Nathan), Christopher Vallee, Jonathan Biggs (Andrea), and Dr. Laura Salitros (Craig) of the Kansas City area, David Biggs (Patricia) of Houston TX, Alexander Fox (Laura) of New York City, Matthew Vallee (Courtney), Kaitlyn Vallee, and Megan Vallee of the Albany area. Eileen had two great-grandsons, Paul and Daniel Salitros of Kansas City. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews, as well as a sister-in law, Barbara Vallee.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home Friday from 4-7 p.m.
