The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Peter Vernesoni, president of Connecticut Canine Search and Rescue (CCSAR), was first introduced to bring his group into our Manchester CERT organization along with a proposal. Would we be interested in being a CCSAR navigator and communicator on a CCSAR search team? This would free up one dog handler per team. Pete said he would provide us with the necessary navigation training. The positive response was, when can we start the training? Peter not only provided that training but went on to provide us a course in basic SAR Ground Search Management. We are all better CERT members because of Pete’s commitment and dedication.
