Richard “Rich” Eugene Magee, 85, of Edgerton, KS passed away March 22, 2018 at Wellsville Retirement Community. Funeral will be 11:00 am Thur., March 29, 2018 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS (913) 856-7111. Burial follows at Edgerton Cemetery. Visitation 10:00 am before the service. Rich was born February 3, 1933 in Rosedale, KS to Rutherford Henry and Pansy Mae (Canote) Magee. He grew up in Rosedale and graduated from Rosedale High School. He married Shirley A. Henderson on October 20, 1951 in Rosedale. Rich worked for Southwestern Bell as a PBX installer; he retired in 1985 after 34 years. He and Shirley moved to Edgerton in 1989 from Overland Park. Rich was a member of the Communication Workers of America and served as a Union Steward. He was a member of Demolay and the Edgerton United Methodist Church. Rich enjoyed fishing, wood crafting and watching westerns. He will be missed by family and friends.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Bob Magee. He is survived by his wife of the home; children: Richard “Rick” James Magee and wife Cheri of Edgerton, KS, Deborah Kay Abels and husband Mike of Roeland Park, KS and John Allen Magee and wife Karla of Louisburg, KS; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
