Obituary for Julius E. Salay

Julius E. Salay
Julius E. Salay, 83, husband of the late June Salay, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Apple Rehab Coccomo. Born in the Bronx, New York on September 25, 1934, he was the son of the late George and Mary Salay. Julius resided in Brooklyn, New York for most of his life before moving to Meriden for the last twenty years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Army.


He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Torrente and her husband John of Meriden; two sons, Edward Salay of Meriden and William Salay of NY; and two grandchildren, Joseph Torrente and his fiancé Agnieszka Parzych and Allison Petralito and her husband Wayne. He was predeceased by his brothers Paul and Bill.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 5 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden. Burial will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School, 115 Lewis Avenue, Meriden, CT 06451.
